Conservation Treatment and Preservation

Preservation of Hill Country history is a priority for Logan Library. Staff and volunteers trained in sound conservation methods will repair damaged documents and transfer them to archival-quality housings. Basic conservation procedures include the removal of metal clips and staples, paper flattening, gently cleaning documents, and repairs of minor damage.

Remote access to materials via the World Wide Web makes rare items more accessible while reducing the amount of physical handling that would normally occur.
